Socks May Be Small

“Why on earth would you want to knit socks?  Socks are so cheap. Why would want to waste your time and money knitting a pair?” For me, I think they are artistic, and obviously a creative outlet.  There are countless yarns available online for knitting socks, great Esty stores, and your local yarn shop (not to mention the secrets of one's own yarn stash).

If you can’t tell, I’ve gotten super passionate about knitting socks. I’ve made dozens of pairs as gifts, and am working on a year long knit a long where you knit 12 pairs in one year. When December 31st gets here, your socks are cleverly positioned in boxes and posted on a Ravelry group of your choiceThen your post will be randomly selected to receive a knitting-related gift.

While I don’t know if the recipients appreciate them, I really enjoy thinking about the person that I’m making them for while I’m knitting away. Once in a while a pair of socks may have taken me months to finish, and I may have been this close to giving up on more than one occasion, but I did it!  And I’m so glad because these are the comfiest things to have ever graced my feet.

All in all, I’m so glad I stuck it out with these beauties because they are totally worth it. I can’t tell you how satisfying it is to look down at your feet and be like, “Heck ya, I made those!”

Badass, party of me.
